A Total Health Classroom is a classroom that supports Mental, Emotional and Physical health.

    • Exercise balls
    • Balance discs
    • Essential oils
    • Yoga
    • Healthy snacks

Exercise balls are proven to improve behavior & focus in students. Exercise balls also strengthen the core and improve posture. Balance discs have similar benefits as the exercise ball but are more suitable for being placed on the chair seat.

Essential oils can promote healthy learning environment. They can be diffused into the air to promote calmness, clear unpleasant odors, boot energy and sharpen focus.

Yoga can be used as a tool the help students calm anxiousness, initiate positive thinking and build strength.

Healthy snacks are another great way to promote health in the classroom. The snacks can be used not only for nutrition but to also show children how to choose healthy snacks. Learning to read and understand the ingredients is a necessary skill to know when choosing healthy foods.

  • Apples
  • Clementines
  • Dried fruit
  • Fruit cups
  • Trail mix (make your own)
  • Mixed seeds
  • Bars (made of real and health foods)

Ideal health comes from a balance of mental, physical and emotional wellness. Introducing activity, essential oils, and teaching children how to choose healthy snacks are skills they can use the rest of their life.
